Human Trafficking is a Digital Crisis

Target

Recruitment is Exploding Online

Traffickers exploit social media to target vulnerable kids. From 2019–2020, recruitment increased 125% on Facebook and 95% on Instagram.

Broken Heart

Current Systems Fall Short

The U.S. lacks dedicated recovery facilities designed specifically for trafficking survivors, leaving many without safe, long-term options.

Locked Mental Health

Trauma Runs Deep

Survivors carry layers of trauma, emotional, physical, and digital, but most programs aren’t equipped to treat the whole person.

Alert

Digital Dangers Persist

Even after rescue, survivors remain vulnerable online. Without guidance and safe digital practice, traffickers can reconnect, putting recovery at constant risk.

Skye Steele

“We cannot win the fight against human trafficking without you... It takes a community of supporters fighting together to make an impact in the lives of survivors.”

Where Hope Lives

A New Model for Healing

Most recovery programs protect survivors by taking their phones away. This creates a dangerous gap: when survivors leave treatment without learning safe tech habits, relapse rates soar.

We're building something different in Glendale, AZ: a 9 acre campus that will integrate medical care, behavioral health, and trauma informed therapy with an added layer others overlook - digital safety. Our survivors will heal in mind, in body, and online.

  • 170 Beds for Healing: the largest survivor-specific recovery facility of its kind in the U.S.
  • Whole-Person Care: therapy that restores body, mind, and relationships.
  • Digital Safety Training: survivors learn to navigate technology safely during recovery.

A community, intentionally designed

This isn’t just a facility, it’s a purpose-built environment where every space supports recovery.

  • Trauma-Informed Housing: safe, stable living spaces tailored to survivors' needs.
  • Medical & Behavioral Health Facility: on-site comprehensive clinical care.
  • Equine Therapy Park: animal-assisted therapies that rebuild trust and confidence.
  • Event Center: a space to educate, engage, and grow community support.

“The calls just keep coming in on our hotline… these days, it’s rare we can say, ‘Yes, we have a bed open for you.’ It’s heartbreaking.”

Elaine Medeiros

Program Coordinator, Where Hope Lives

At 14 they put me out on the streets day and night. I got beat. I got raped. When I got away, a school counselor called Where Hope Lives and they took me in the same day. I was pregnant and they helped me and my baby have a life."
